The first Care Alliance research conference took place on November 20th 2015 in the Carmichael Centre in Dublin, Ireland. Discussing the findings from the Irish Actifcare focus groups with people with dementia, carers, and healthcare professionals, Dr Louise Hopper (DCU) focused on some of the recurring issues that are faced by people with dementia and their families in their journey through dementia.

Rachael Joyce presented a more detailed examination of the themes emerging from the focus groups with family carers in her poster presentation titled “Most of us have to go looking for everything” – Family caregiver experiences of formal home- and community-based dementia care in Ireland”. Both presentations are available in the publications section of the Actifcare website. An overview of the full conference is available by clicking here.
